When Ruth, Augusta, and Silas discover an abandoned subway station beneath Danny’s Extrastellar Burritos, they do what any sensible group of dimensionally displaced dead people would do: they get on the train. Their mysterious journey deposits them in an impossible version of 1918 Paris, where the streets are deserted, reality has stopped following the rules, and a recently deceased painter named Baltimore Darling is being hunted by something that may be part monster, part memory, and part abstract concept.
