Jay began his improv journey in 2022 with Last Best Comedy. Since then he has become a regular on the LBC stage for house teams including Whiz Bang, Critter Collective and Foxy Horror. He has also performed at improv festivals and across Montana with his two-person team Fawn Stars. Recently, has directed the house team Chairs - an improvised Cristopher Guest movie.

Jay Hanewald is a computer network engineer by trade, a caretaker for twelve houseplants, and has recently learned to catch an edge on a snowboard. When not at the club, he appears standoffish or intimidating at coffee shops around Bozeman. Don’t worry! He’s a good hang, but is constantly worried about the impression he gives-off.
